Apartments Laguna

The children were heartbroken to leave. Our five-year-old daughter and three-year-old son loved the sea, sun, salty air, local souvenir and toy shops, and especially our host, the friendly "Uncle Anton." He won them over with rides on an inflatable boat, a scooter, and a dredge. Our daughter cried on the last evening as she said goodbye to the sea under the moonlight. After two weeks, our youngest son couldn't believe we were going home. He pointed at the apartment ceiling and looked around, saying, "This is home!" Families get a safe space here, with no cars or other hazards around the house, a gentle way into the water, and a terrace where you can see the beach and the whole area. Kids can play on their own, with a tree swing, a slide for little ones, more swings, and a stone-paved play area. Parents can have a quiet afternoon too: a child can nap in the air-conditioned apartment with a nanny keeping an eye on them while a parent unwinds on the beach. Later, adults can gather on the spacious ground-floor terrace, grill, and get into a party mood with the interesting lighting. The beach is right beside the house, and the terrace looks out over the sea all day. Fig and pine trees fill the air with their scent. We spotted gulls, lizards, geckos, and praying mantises, and a curious kitten from the neighbors came by during a barbecue. It's peaceful and private, but not cut off. Cafes, restaurants, and shops in town are just a few minutes away by car, and the Kraken bar makes great coffee. On a longer stay, you can reach beautiful Zadar in half an hour for shopping at places like Supernova. If the weather keeps you from swimming, there's a playroom for children. The first hour is free, then it's five euros, and nannies can watch them if needed. Nin, an old Croatian royal town, is nearby too, with ancient streets, good food, and ice cream. The owner calls his house on Vir's sunny coast a second home, and the way he cares for the apartments, beach, and guests makes it feel that way. The apartment has what we needed even for a longer stay. Next time we won't need to pack a mixer for pancake batter and mashed potatoes. It was spotless when we arrived, and thoughtful extras included a bottle of wine, Italian spaghetti with Bolognese sauce as a welcome gift, and dishwasher tablets. Anyone who cooks will appreciate the sharp knives, meat shears, and pans in good condition. This was a comfortable stay for both adults and a baby, and we'd love to return. It's a magical holiday spot for people who want peace and privacy, away from crowded beaches beside a busy road or promenade.

We've been to the Laguna apartments on Vir three times with friends, and each stay has been perfect. The three-apartment villa is only a few meters from a "private" beach, with pine woods around it that add to the feeling of privacy. Just off the shore there's a floating pier with a swing and diving board. The apartments are air-conditioned and luxuriously furnished, with a proper kitchen and built-in appliances, plus a wine cellar and washing machine. Each has its own adjustable beach loungers. The owner keeps the beach and apartments in good shape. For this season, there's a new spacious outdoor seating area with partial shade, and sun awnings have been added to the apartment terraces. You can also take a virtual tour of the apartments and villa surroundings on the website before you go. My friends and I can definitely recommend staying at Laguna apartments on Vir.

The owner clearly looks after the house, which makes it easy to relax on vacation. The apartment is fitted out down to the details, and the kitchen gear is especially impressive, with even a blender. There's air conditioning, plus a beach just for guests with your own loungers. Amazing holiday in a great place. Hard to say more, it's just top.

We especially recommend this place for families with kids. The surroundings are peaceful, and the city is about a 25-minute walk away, with typical seaside restaurants and a holiday feel in the evening. The villa is about 60 meters from a private beach, one of the few nearby that the owner maintains. It slopes gently into the sea, and there's a dock about 15 meters from the beach with a three-meter diving board, great for sunbathing or jumping in. The new, fully furnished apartments are beautiful, and outside there's a grill, ice cream, and pergolas overlooking the sea. We had our best vacation in Croatia here. July/August 2021, one week. Highly recommended.
