Hotel Punta

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the coast is close by, with the beach about a five-minute walk away. The lobby gives a modern, luxurious impression, but the corridors to the rooms are a different story. The furnishings are very dated, and the rooms badly need renovation. Some beds are broken, and it looks like nothing has been updated for a long time. The food selection wasn’t especially broad and felt geared toward mass production. We stayed at Hotel Punta for six days.

The location is great, and the service was very good. The hotel was clean, but the whole place is old and needs renovation. The air conditioning barely worked. In its current state, I wouldn’t call it a four-star hotel.

We only found out the parking wasn’t free after arriving. It costs 10 Euro per day, and the person handling the reservation hadn’t mentioned it. We had to speak with the hotel manager so they’d know that lots of people may not be aware of the charge.

The meals were the biggest disappointment. There was basically the same limited choice every day, with two side dishes, two kinds of meat, some vegetables, and two kinds of fish. The food was poorly seasoned and not cooked properly. Breakfast pastries seemed to be from the day before, and leftovers were reheated or mixed into pasta with watery sauce. For a four-star hotel, that was hard to believe. We sent a complaint by email and were offered only a 10% discount. The room and balcony also felt old and unclean. There were toothpicks and a Heets cigarette on the floor, mold all over the bathroom, and the bathtub hadn’t been cleaned properly. The balcony railing and tiles were damaged. The room door was broken when we arrived, though after we reported it to reception, it could be opened normally. There was no kettle for making tea or coffee. The pool is shared with two other hotels, and it isn’t big enough for all three. Early in the morning, every sunbed already had a towel on it to reserve it. Parking costs €10 per day. Very disappointing and unacceptable.
