The location is excellent for swimming and exploring, and the WiFi worked very well. The pool was closed for refurbishment, though. We paid for a sea view but got a side room overlooking the car park, with the sea off to the left. Villa Arausa needs refurbishment: there were marks on the walls, bubbling paint, a loose door frame and missing tiles beneath the balcony door. The bedsheets weren't changed during our 11 night stay, even though room service staff were very friendly. The room had no kettle or tea and coffee facilities, and just a tiny old fridge instead of a minibar. Check-in and meals are at the nearby big hotel, Hotel punta, which can get very busy. Hotel punta looks tired, with several botched ceiling repairs at reception and many failed lights. Reception staff were a mixed bunch, some lovely and some unhelpful. Meals were mixed too: a couple were delicious, but most were mediocre.

The location, pool, staff and food are great, but I don’t think the accommodation is worth the price. The rooms are outdated, the beds squeak, the fridge hinges were broken, and the bathroom doors needed fixing.

There’s no WiFi access, even in the 21st century. The room renovation work was poor, and there’s no children’s playground, such as a slide.

The poor condition, lack of cleanliness, bad breakfast and unfriendly management made this the worst hotel ever for me. Stay here if you want to spoil your time in Vodice.
