Heritage Hotel Maskovica Han

We really liked the hotel's facilities and atmosphere. It's close to the city but quiet enough to unwind, with lovely nearby routes for a run, meditation, or a walk. There's a small shop close by too, which was handy. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the “cave.” The spa was being renovated during our stay, and there hadn't been any notice on the website or Booking. That was the one disappointment. Apart from that, we had a great time.

This was a lovely stop during a long trip, with good food and drinks, a welcoming atmosphere, and convenient parking. The place has a lot of history to remember. Its story began as a dream in 1644 for Yosef Pasha, who sadly died two years later. It was developed into a hotel a few years ago, and they're doing a very good job with cleanliness, upkeep, and continued development. They're due to have a pool by next year. You can come for a meal or have a great party indoors or outside.

We didn't stay here, but they showed us a room and it was luxurious. I loved the history too: it was originally a stop for merchants and their animals, started by an Ottoman General, I think. Beautiful place.

We left after waiting 15 minutes without being served. The waiter had passed our table several times but never came over. At first, we sat in the restaurant's half-empty garden, where he reluctantly told us everything was reserved and pointed us to the area without reservations. Service was disastrous. Avoid at all costs.
