The host made us feel welcome right away and gave us useful ideas for places to visit, things to do, and where to eat. For a stay in the lovely village of Vrboska, I’d strongly recommend Villa Welcome.

Vrboska is a wonderful village to visit, and the beaches are great. Villa Welcome was well priced for the area, and the hosts were pleasant. But if you’re travelling with children, I wouldn’t choose it for a relaxing stay. We were three families with four children, spending mornings and evenings at the beach and only coming back around noon to make food. We followed the house rules, but the children laughed and played in the garden for about 20 minutes. The owner got very upset and told us to teach them to behave, saying children should sit quietly in one place. It felt rude to be told that our kids should sit like puppies on chairs. An older lady who watched us in the garden all day also shut off the water taps, so we couldn’t use water for painting. Maybe water costs too much for the price of the house. You get what you pay for, I guess. Paying a little more might be worth it for a stress-free holiday with children.
We’ve been coming to Villa Welcome for 13 years, and it’s become our number one summer destination. The rooms are clean, the stay is affordable, and the accommodation is quiet and well located. Marijana and Slaven are fantastic, reliable hosts who are there whenever you need help. It’s a great base for exploring the island’s many bays and beaches, preferably by car. We fell in love with the island in 2010, and the peace and hospitality here make for the kind of holiday we want. I’m writing this year because I was there for the first two days of Mr. Pongrácz Mátyás’s stay, which were our last two, and his account just isn’t true. Guests saw the children running up and down the stairs, shouting and playing in the garden at 07:45 am on their first morning, perhaps earlier. My husband had already gone to the store because he couldn’t sleep. Another guest and I, whose children had also been woken at 07:45, went out on our balconies and politely asked if they could be quieter. We had to ask, and it didn’t stop them. Their parents didn’t seem to care. The villa finally became quiet around 09:00 am, when they left for the beach. That same evening, the children were again running on the stairs and slamming the kitchen and entrance doors after 10:00 pm. The adults didn’t seem concerned, though we once heard them tell the kids to calm down. On our last morning, their second day, we were packing the car to leave around 08:00 am. The children were a little quieter in the garden, probably because many guests had complained the day before and the hosts had spoken to the group. But then one of the adults started using a drone before 08:30 am. It made noise again, and it was an unbelievable invasion of everyone’s privacy. That had never happened in little Vrboska or in the Villa’s garden, where guests are meant to have peace and privacy. I believe guests in nearby villas were disturbed too. In all our 13 years visiting, this was the first time we were glad to head home. We were lucky those guests stayed only for the two days we were there, and I feel sorry for others who paid for a holiday and had to remain longer. We’d spent 12 peaceful, energizing days at the Villa before they arrived, as it always is for the guests there.
The walk down to the waterfront was short and really pretty. Our room was clean and had a lovely view, with a spacious private bathroom and a hot shower. The hosts were gracious and accommodating, and the garden and patio were neatly looked after.
The hosts were kind and very polite, and the beach is close by. It’s a nice location, and I’d recommend it.
