Apartments Campo Castello

It’s a spacious, clean apartment in a central spot, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, and just about everything else you could need. The owner’s a real character, friendly and fun. He only speaks a couple of words of Italian, four of English, and mostly Croatian, but his cheerful, friendly way gets the message across. It can be tricky to find on its little hidden street. There’s no parking underneath the building, so you have to look on nearby streets. There’s no elevator, though the apartment is only on the second floor. Highly recommended!

Everything you might need is already there, from towels, blankets and a hairdryer to a few groceries. The apartment sits on the second floor, with no elevator, in the old town. Finding parking is tricky, though the owners can help you sort it out. They gave us a warm welcome, even if they don't speak English.

The host was so welcoming that we felt at home straight away, and he even drove us to the bus station when it was time to move on. The apartment was spotless and right in the historic center of Zadar. Best host we've had in Croatia. Highly recommend!

Getting around on foot was easy: the city center, Saint Donas Church, the Marine Organ, "Salute to the Sun," and "Konoba Bonoba" are all about two minutes away. If you're driving, parking is a headache. There are very few spaces, and even the pricey paid ones fill up after 9 p.m. Inside, the apartment was quiet, air-conditioned, clean, spacious, and practical. The kitchenette has a fridge but no microwave. The owner is friendly and happy to help, though his English isn't great. Gestures did the job just fine :) He'd stocked the fridge for breakfast on our first day with jam, cheese slices, eggs, and cold cuts. There was grape liqueur too, plus coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and seasonings. It felt like home. Enjoy!
