Dandelion boutique hostel

I’ve stayed here two years in a row now, and I’ll definitely be back next year. They’ve added a kitchen, which is perfect for making yourself a small meal. The hostel is very clean and tidy, and it didn’t disappoint. Tom and his wife are such nice people and always took care of what I needed. Even when my bus was really late, Tom greeted me and let me into my room. I have nothing bad to say about this place!

My one concern is the hostel’s policy on bicycles. The place itself is probably very nice, but they told me to leave my bike beside a casino on a public road. They say the cameras make it safe, even if your bike is expensive. You’re not allowed to bring a bike inside, no exceptions. They said I could cancel, but I wouldn’t get a refund. After they declined my first refund request and I wrote this review out of disappointment, the hostel contacted me. They refunded me the next day.

I arrived late, but the instructions were clear enough that I could get in and find my bed even with no one around. It’s a quiet hostel, which I loved, and it’s just a 10-minute walk to the main bus station, whether you’re arriving by bus or flight. I had a great stay and highly recommend it.

For solo travelers, this is an excellent choice. My room felt brand new, with simple, clever furnishings suited to budget travelers. There were proper desks for laptop work and enough plugs for everyone. The beds had curtains and built-in lights, giving each person good privacy. Mine was very comfortable, and the sheets were super clean. The bathroom and toilet were separate but both inside the room. They stayed remarkably clean and dry during my visit. The air conditioning worked perfectly in July, when it was much needed. Outside the room there was an electric kettle, plus free instant coffee and tea bags. The beach is about a kilometer away on foot, and there’s a shopping mall with a supermarket across from the hotel.
