Hi Hostel Zadar

We held an event with a big group and the staff took really good care of us. They were kind and accommodating, the rooms were clean, and the food was great. They catered perfectly to our vegan requirements. The location is ideal for walks along the coast.

The location is fantastic, and HI Hostel was extremely easy to work with for the five-day meeting we organised for 40 people. They met all our needs, including delicious vegan catering and extra rooms for working. We highly recommend it to any group or organisation wanting to create an inspiring space.

The location is the only thing this hostel has going for it. I’d avoid staying here unless you have absolutely no other option. The room wasn’t filthy, but it felt neglected and run down, with marked-up walls, graffiti, and even holes. Every blanket we were given had visible stains, which is completely unacceptable. The bathroom was disgraceful. The toilet sat dangerously low, made a huge noise when flushed, and took far too long to refill, which points to serious maintenance issues. Power points were hard to reach, and mobile reception was so poor that you had to find particular spots just to use data. Getting onto the Wi-Fi was difficult, and once connected it was painfully slow. This place is uncomfortable, badly maintained, and not worth the money.

The staff were kind, attentive, and informative, and the hostel is dog friendly. I liked the purple bed linen, colorful walls in some buildings, and photos of Croatian tourist sights. The breakfast was hostel style, and the restaurant was clean. There’s a big, inviting garden with tables and chairs, plus an outdoor bar that was closed out of season. My room was spotless, with three beds and a bathroom, though I was the only one staying in it. It had a balcony with a sea view, and the bed was very comfortable. Nights were quiet. It’s a nice hostel in a quiet part of town, close to inviting beaches and restaurants. There’s a public bus to the centre if you don’t feel like walking for about an hour.
