Hotel Donat All Inclusive

In my opinion, this place is a hidden gem. The food, staff and location are all fantastic, and there are loads of parking spaces. Our room was clean. I can't think of anything bad to say. Not sure why it's only rated three stars.

Don't recommend this place. The photos are misleading, and I got very sick with food poisoning. I checked in late and was given a bagged meal at midnight with chicken that had been sitting at reception for hours. I ate it and was sick the next day. I contacted the hotel and booking.com but got no reply. I could have overlooked how run down and dirty the place was if I hadn't become so severely ill. The food was horrendous, and there were stains on the room floor. The wooden swimming area by the sea had missing boards and nails sticking out. I wish I'd taken more photos, but I just wanted to leave as soon as possible.

The management was excellent at answering my questions before arrival and communicating during the booking. The 24-hour check-in was also a big help with my late flight. It's an old hotel, but clean, and I like its old-fashioned character. My room was small and simple but comfortable, and clean, which mattered most to me. Breakfast is included, and they put real effort into it. It suited me perfectly for a one-night stop while traveling.

The all-inclusive deal is extensive and really good value, though the food reflects the hotel's mainly German clientele. It's a fabulous budget hotel right on the beach, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Rooms are a decent size, if a little tired. The balcony rooms with sea views are lovely.
