Hotel Marinko

There’s no pool, but the beach, restaurants and bars are all an easy walk away. This is a small, clean hotel with plenty of parking, close to Marina Boris in the north of Zadar, and easy to find. The staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was a good continental spread, with eggs cooked how you like them, including omelettes and fried eggs. The room had a good mattress, blackout shutters, air conditioning, and a good shower and en-suite.

The walk into the centre takes about 40 minutes, past several harbours, though a cheap Uber or Bolt is easy to book for around €6 - €8. We loved our stay. It’s a quaint little hotel on the edge of the city centre and really good value. The rooms may look dated, but they were clean and comfortable. Breakfast runs from 7 - 10, with a decent choice of pastries, cakes, cereal and meats. All the staff were very welcoming. A real hidden gem.

It’s very quiet here, which is a bonus, and good value for being outside the town centre. The buses are frequent: it’s a six-minute walk to the stop, then about 12 minutes to the centre of the old town. Breakfast was great and everything was fresh. There were boiled eggs, ham, cheese, cucumber, tomato, cereal and more. Fried, scrambled or omelette-style eggs are available if you ask, and they came out quickly and hot, freshly cooked.
