The location was excellent and, once we got into it, the room was OK. But on our first night we literally slept in the street. We had booked three nights in June, and the owner knew we’d arrive around midnight and had confirmed self check-in. Still, no key was provided. We spent hours searching for it and made more than 20 calls trying to reach them, then gave up and went back to the car for the night. A month later, we’re still waiting for a refund. The receptionist’s attitude was appalling, and she even blamed us for not booking another hotel that night.

It’s right beside the Main Street, but I didn’t find it noisy. The room was small and not very tidy, and there was a stain on my blanket. No elevator.

We came back for a second stay. Last time our room looked onto the courtyard, which wasn’t much of a view but was very quiet. This time we faced the shopping street, a nice sight, though people kept walking and shouting through the alley until around 2:00 AM. Then the cleaning truck began its rounds at 6:30 AM 😕

Nothing in the fridge, no chilled water on arrival, and reception didn’t offer an alternative. Finding the reception area was tricky too. The room itself was the most disappointing of our Croatia road trip, especially since we’d hoped for a treat with a 4-star stay. The pillows smelled and the bedding wasn’t comfortable. Water had been shut off when we arrived; nobody told us when it came back, and then it was cloudy and low-pressure. For this price, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. There are better choices in Zadar.
