Hotel Porto

The WiFi didn't reach our room, so we had no internet there. It was also hot throughout the hotel, and some air conditioners were switched off. Our room stayed uncomfortably warm because its AC couldn't cool it enough.

We came for a friend's wedding and, after a six-hour drive, arrived at 10:45 PM only to be told our booking couldn't be found. I'd reserved two double rooms with breakfast by email through the sales team six weeks earlier, and they had confirmed it. The night receptionist said we were down for the following day and told us to “figure it out” for the night. After I pushed back, two other receptionists contacted the front desk manager, who was very rude and unprofessional. They found us somewhere else to stay, but first said I should pay because it was just one night and I would have paid for the hotel anyway. After a long negotiation, the hotel manager agreed to cover that night's alternative accommodation. A kind receptionist called early the next morning to say two rooms were available and we could return. I later learned a larger group had been affected by the same problem. I let it go at the time because I was there for a wedding and didn't want more stress. Once home, several days passed without anyone apologizing. Management hadn't apologized in person the next day, so I emailed them, and only then got an apology. This experience showed me no hospitality, professionalism, or culture. I'd give less than one star if I could.

We had a really good two-night stay. The rooms were very clean, and the service was superb. They packed breakfast for us without any fuss. Half board is good value too, with a simple breakfast and evening meal. There's plenty of parking, and Zadar centre isn't far away. Better than a basic three-star, and I'd happily recommend it.

Breakfast didn't even have water glasses or mugs for tea and coffee, which felt unbelievable. There was no tea or coffee offered in the rooms either. The TV was in Polish, which I couldn't understand at all, and only five channels worked. The lack of organization here is enough for me to say I can't recommend it.
