MAJA H.
The house itself was reasonably clean and functionally furnished, though a little musty. The beds were badly worn, the mattresses poor, and the only bedding was a sheet with a thin cover, which left us cold in May. We noticed small red bites on our legs and wondered if there might be fleas, but that's only a guess. The air conditioning worked, though we didn't need it in the mild weather. The terrace faces the street behind a planted screen, but construction noise and dust made it hard to use, and the ship's work brought a strong diesel smell. We were there in May 2022, when the whole road was being rebuilt. Getting to the house meant using gravel tracks with no pavement, though despite the barriers we were allowed to drive up and park in the yard. The house has a sea view, but a busy road runs between it and the water, something the photos didn't make clear. The so-called beach was concrete with very large stones, and it didn't seem intended for swimming, though a strong swimmer could enter the sea anywhere. Worse, a large ship was anchored offshore, breaking rocks and laying sewage pipes from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The landlord apologized, but that didn't improve our holiday. We couldn't relax or sleep in, and those ten days felt wasted. We didn't ask for compensation because we didn't want more stress. We can't blame anyone for the construction itself, but guests should be told in advance, especially given how much we paid. This wasn't a place we'd recommend based on our experience, though others may feel differently. What a shame.
