The shower drain was blocked, so water pooled while we showered, and the place was filthy when we arrived. It looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in over a year. Then we found a huge spider in the room. After we killed it, I called Silvio, the person in charge. He was very attentive and helpful, came over the same day I complained and did a little cleaning. We were then able to sleep peacefully before catching our flight the next day. Still, this was one of the worst experiences of my life, and I strongly don’t recommend the place.

The accommodation is in a very good location, and luckily we only needed it for bathing and sleeping. The hallway smelled of cigarettes, the room was cold, the bed uncomfortable, and the walls were musty and moldy. The sink, toilet and shower were okay. Kitchen utensils were incomplete, the glass was ancient, and the cutlery holder in the drawer was dirty. The hob was broken when we arrived, but we didn’t cook or use it. The owner suspected we’d broken it, then later apologized after the cleaning lady admitted she’d dropped something on it.

Set in an old Zagreb villa, this place is quiet and cozy, and still practically central. It got a bit warm despite the thick walls, but the owner brought us a fan right away. Coffee and tea are included too. Would recommend.

For about €47 a night, it was decent. The room was small and old, but had what I needed, and the area was pretty good. Service was good too.
