We'd paid in full for four nights, but when we arrived the apartment wasn't available. It took 13 phone calls to find that out. The owner had informed the agency, then left the two of us, both 80 years old, standing at the door with nowhere to stay. Having that happen on our first night in Croatia was incredibly stressful. We eventually found somewhere else, at a much higher cost. We got very little compensation and no apology.

For the price, it's good value, and the location is central and convenient for seeing the historic center. The living area is particularly large and impressive. It was clean and had almost everything, though there's no dishwasher. A few things could use attention: the kitchen countertop moves, there's no soap dish in the shower, the shower faucet needs work, and two bedroom sockets don't work. The bedroom is small and its window looks onto the shared staircase. The shared entrance is ugly.

The apartment was very dirty, and it seemed it hadn't been cleaned before we rented it. There was dust in the corners and under the bed, cobwebs, a filthy shower, and a dirty, unsightly hallway. There were also what might have been bits of cardboard stuck to the back of the fridge. A grille covers the bedroom window because it faces the hallway, so airing the room at night was unpleasant and it got unbearably warm. We'd been sent a door code in advance, but it was wrong. When we contacted the landlord, he got annoyed and blamed us for entering it incorrectly. It turned out he'd sent the wrong code, and there was no real apology. We contacted him again after leaving, but he showed no understanding and still didn't apologize. I absolutely can't recommend this apartment.
