Bed & Breakfast Donji Grad

Tatiana, thank you for going out of your way to make us feel at home. She was extraordinarily kind and helpful. We had a very nice room with the quality of a four-star hotel, facing the yard, so it was quiet even though we were in the center of town. The location was amazing, and parking was available in the yard.

I was there in February and had a wonderful stay. Since, as far as I could tell, mine was the only occupied room out of four, I was allowed to check in an hour early. There’s free luggage storage at reception, which is handy, though checking out before 09:30 might be a pain if you’re staying longer in Zagreb and all four rooms are occupied in high season. The room size suited me well as a solo traveler, and everything was modern and clean. Tatjana is a lovely, friendly host. The location is quiet but just a few minutes’ walk from the main square and close to other major sights. Breakfast was minimal for me. I’d suggest adding a few things like Croatian cheese, pâtés, or fruit, though I do eat a big breakfast :)

The accommodations are nice, though small, and the area felt safe. It’s centrally located, just a short walk from the city center. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast wasn’t the best we’ve had in Croatia, but it was enough: a tiny coffee, more like a shot, juice, a crepe, a small basket of bread with a few deli meat and cheese slices, and premade fruit yogurt with granola.

Our rooms were comfortable and clean, and the location made it easy to walk to the parks and the Square. The hosts gave us helpful suggestions for places to eat and things to see. I’d recommend it for independent travelers. There are only four rooms with ensuite bathrooms, so book early.
