Comfort Zone

The cleaning ladies were kind and tried to help, but they couldn’t make up for how bitter this stay felt. The owner was rude and unwilling to help. I arrived to check in at 9:30 pm, and the entry instructions weren’t clear. The cleaners called him for me, but he shouted, “Everything is in the email.” When I tried to explain that I needed clarification, he yelled, “Cancel, cancel, cancel,” then hung up. Getting into the studio was a hassle: one code for the building, a separate code that worked differently for the apartment, and then a third code for the key box. The internet was awful too. A ten-minute WhatsApp call kept breaking up at least four or five times. The place looks good, but things didn’t work or feel comfortable. The kitchen hot plate and TV weren’t working, there was no towel hook by the shower, and no soap, shampoo, salt, pepper, or other kitchen basics. The pillows were small and cheap, and the utensils and kitchen equipment looked like second-hand items. There was no comfort in this “comfort zone.” It seems this used to be a nice place, but it’s now divided into four little studios and feels like a low-class hostel.

The location is good and the apartment is nice enough, but the bed setup was disappointing. The duvet didn’t cover my whole body, and the cheap pillows were very flat. The Wi-Fi didn’t work either. It felt like guest comfort hadn’t been considered, especially for what you pay.

We stayed six nights and it was pretty good value, with the centre very close by. The cleaning could use a bit more effort, and it would help if someone could come clean after two nights. Still, our stay was very good.

We stayed in one of the three units called smile and love and magic garden. The owner was extremely rude, kept yelling, and offered no help. There were insects in the room.
