Hotel Holiday Zagreb

By far the worst experience of my life. The hotel is scruffy and dated, rooms are dirty, and our bedding wasn’t changed during our stay. Some people in our group had things taken from their rooms. The staff were rude and unfriendly, and the food was awful with small portions. We were told there was a rooftop terrace, but there isn’t one. Our room had a fridge, but it was filthy, and not every room even has one despite what’s supposed to be provided. The air conditioning was loud and didn’t work properly. Internet was rubbish, only available in certain parts of the hotel, if it worked at all. Sockets were coming off the walls. The shower was broken and I had to clean it before using it, while the toilet was stained and dirty.

For the price, it was what I expected. The room and linens were clean, breakfast was good, and the front desk staff member was pleasant even at one in the morning. There was a slight stale-cigarette smell in the room, and the whole hotel could use an update.

The beds were fine and I slept well. We booked the largest room, which was big but a little worn with age. The spa bath was broken, there were dirty socks in the closet, and the minibar was empty. The restaurant was terrible, the food looked like military food.

In November there was no heating. Breakfast was average, and food that was meant to be hot was cold. My clothes picked up a stale smell from the closets. The hotel is 9 km from the center and very old and worn out.
