Hotel Novi Zagreb

There are so few parking spaces for the number of rooms, and guests staying for more than 10 days were moved between rooms several times without a reasonable explanation. The hotel is old, and the room and service quality don't justify the high price. Every staff member I dealt with seemed extremely uninformed and arrogant, and ready to argue. You can get a better, cheaper stay in the city for under 50 euros. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The bathrooms were so dirty I didn't want to touch anything, and there was no hot water. Breakfast was poor, and an unpleasant smell lingered in both the rooms and corridors. The whole place felt miserable. It was hard to believe hotels like this still exist. If you want to feel like you've gone back to the start of the last century, stay here.

There was enough parking, but my room faced the road. I couldn't use the air conditioning, and with the window open, passing cars and motorcycles were noisy.

The staff were friendly, and the location is good. Inside and out, though, the hotel still looks like it's from the 80s. The building itself is in decent condition, but the roof and parking lot are worn, and its energy efficiency is far behind current standards. The bathtubs should be replaced with showers, which would use less water and be easier for disabled guests to access. Rather than having so many AC units visible on the facade, they could install a heat pump to make heating and cooling the rooms more efficient. The place needs renovation.
