We ended up sleeping in our car with our 10-year-old child, even though we'd paid for the room. After we arrived back the following evening, the key box PIN had been changed and the host had rented the apartment to someone else while our reservation was still active and paid for. We called and messaged more than ten times without a reply. The advertised 24/7 support was nowhere to be found. Earlier, just a few hours after arriving, we had realized we couldn't stay there. The floor heating couldn't be turned off, making the apartment unbearably hot, like a sauna. There was visible mold throughout the bathroom and the cleanliness was unacceptable. We contacted support right away because of medical concerns and the unsafe conditions, but nothing was resolved. Changing the access code and renting out a paid property without notice is irresponsible and unacceptable. This was the worst accommodation experience I've had. If there's a free park bench, take it, it'll be more reliable. I strongly advise people to avoid this place.

We didn't feel safe and contacted the organization, but they offered no solution and said cancelling the stay wasn't possible. The room had several safety and comfort problems: the main entrance wouldn't shut properly, and the balcony door lock was broken, so it felt easy for someone to steal our belongings. Some electrical sockets were broken, loose from the wall, or unsafe, and some sunshades didn't work. Sunlight came straight through the curtain, the air conditioning wasn't working and the rooms were very hot, and the shower head wouldn't stay on the wall. There was no smoke detector.

Shame on you. The owners weren't there, luckily, because if they'd acted in person like they did in their messages, it could have been a disaster. They offered no refund or anything, and this didn't feel like a safe place. We booked through booking after seeing reviews that looked okay, intending to stay one night. We couldn't manage even a second inside. The place was full of Cimex bugs, and the owners know about it but still rent it out. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Avoid it as much as you can.

The host never offered a satisfactory fix while I was there, even after I reported the problems. The room stayed above 28 degrees Celsius because the air-conditioning didn't work, despite what the host had told me. I had to sleep with the windows open and got bitten by mosquitoes. The shower pressure was extremely weak, and hot water came and went. Those basic problems made for a very uncomfortable stay. Rooms 88 was the worst place I stayed on my trip to Zagreb, and I strongly advise other renters to choose somewhere else.

The only upside was the low price. Otherwise, it felt like the place had been left as it was instead of being cleaned and made ready for guests. The walls in the bathroom were moldy, work looked unfinished, utilities seemed barely attached, and there were bed bugs. The shower was missing half a door, so bathing left you standing in dirty water. One room had a strange door opening onto a garage, where lights stayed on around the clock and made it hard to sleep. The air-conditioning was extremely loud when it worked. They advertised a two-bed room, but there was just one bed and an unpleasant sofa bed. The owner seemed shady and not very honest. Be careful with the plug sockets, too, as they might come out when you unplug your cable.
