Hotel Vienna

Getting to the city centre was easy from this good location, and the room was okay. But the receptionist was really rude. I think her name was Lora. She didn't say hello or smile, just looked at me and shouted, “passport.” After handing me the key, she said, “that's all,” without explaining anything. I had to ask where the elevator was and when breakfast was, along with other basic check-in information. It ruined the whole impression.

You get a lot for the price. Check-in and checkout were simple, without unnecessary complications. The breakfast was basic, but everything looked fresh. Hygiene was 10/10, and the staff were very friendly. I'll come back next time I'm in Zagreb.

We'd been on the road for two days and picked this hotel for one night's sleep. It cost an average 85 euros for two people, and the photos showed white beds and an ordinary room, nothing special. But the beds need replacing, or at least the mattresses do. They're too short for an average adult, and the spring mattresses creak and press into your bones. I woke up feeling unrested, and even worse, as if I'd been deceived. We paid for a European standard room and got a dirty, uncomfortable one instead. There were spiders in every corner and the curtains were dusty and dirty. No kettle, not even for making tea to calm down. The air conditioner blew straight at the bed. With 35 degrees outside in summer, the choices were to suffocate at night or get sick. There were no mosquito nets on the windows, so sleeping with them open wasn't an option. A hotel should be somewhere to rest, not suffer, and visitors expect ordinary comfort. We didn't get it here. This place feels stuck in the distant past, with prices from the future. I don't recommend it. I hope they pay attention and do the minimum for their guests.

The hotel is spacious and clean, with a 24-hour front desk. It's conveniently outside the city centre and easy to reach from the “Slovenia – Sea” highway. Breakfast is good, though there aren't many options. From the right side, you get a beautiful view of the Sljeme hill. I forgot some things in my room, and nobody from the hotel contacted me, even though they had my phone number or could have reached me through Booking.com. I had to call several times just to confirm they'd found them so I could arrange for a friend to collect them. Each time, staff said they didn't know and told me to call later when someone from another shift was there, and then again the next day when someone else came in. I expected the hotel to contact me about belongings I left behind, or at least make sure reception knew they'd been found. There's hotel parking, but it's hard to access. They recommended I try to find a spot on the street, and said they'd show me where the hotel parking was only if I couldn't find one.
