Bed and Breakfast Vjeko

We went at the end of August and had a great time. This is a small fishing village without noisy hotels, so it was easy to unwind, swim in the clear warm water, snorkel among colorful fish, and even spot dolphins. There's parking beside the building, too. The family works hard to make guests feel welcome. The staff and host were helpful and friendly, and they speak English and German. I'm Polish, and Croatian felt somewhat similar, so communication was easy. Our room was comfortable and had air conditioning. No TV, which was great for a place this beautiful. Breakfast had bread or croissants, cheese, meat, tomatoes, olives, and scrambled eggs. The selection was fine and kept us full. Dinner was served at 7 p.m. The first course varied, often chicken or tomato soup, while the second course was the one we looked forward to, either meat or seafood and always delicious. We finished with cake or fruit from the owner's garden. Fresh seafood, nice people, beautiful weather and sea, and a real feel for Dalmatia. Pozdrawiamy Was Wszystkich! Vidimo se!

For a proper break and a chance to recharge, this is the place. It's just two minutes from a lovely beach, and the food and homemade red or white wine are excellent.

The beaches are only a few minutes down the road, and in the August afternoons we were there, they never felt crowded. The water was beautifully warm and crystal clear, though you'll want shoes for the rocky bottom. Our room was cute, with lovely views and air conditioning that worked well. Jakas B&B is a welcoming family-run place, and you can tell they care about their work. The food was delicious, especially the grilled fish and roe-deer goulash. Their wine was among the best I've had. Thank you, Jakas family, for such a lovely stay! :))

The sea views from the rooms are spectacular, and you can walk to restaurants, lounge bars, and beaches in just a few steps. We never needed to get in the car to relax. The owners serve their own wine and olive oil, along with homegrown organic figs, oranges, and vegetables. Breakfast and dinner are generous, and dinner is fresh and delicious, made with the best ingredients. Zavala is a rare find on Hvar, quiet and not overcrowded, with a family-run half-board place that makes it easy to let the kids walk down to the beach. The food comes from the island and sea, which you don't often find in Croatia. It has what you might want from an isolated hotel, but the owners make it feel warm and personal. I'd happily return for years to come 💕
