We practically lived around the outdoor kitchen table, which was the best part of this wonderful property. The air-conditioned main house was joined by an air-conditioned granny annex where our teenagers stayed. A hanging mat, herb garden, and outdoor shower added lots of charm. Dasha was sweet and full of useful information. It's a great setup for families, and since the island is car-free, children can roam while parents worry less. Zlarin is quiet, though the harbour is lovely for evenings out. One thing families with small children should know is that the beaches have a lot of sea urchins. There are plenty of rocky spots to swim from, though.

Dasha made sure everything went smoothly from booking to the end of our stay, and went above and beyond as a host. The property sits at the edge of town, with beautiful sea views and everything well equipped. Its summer kitchen almost makes you want to cook, and the outdoor shower has fantastic views too. We spent a great week in Zlarin with our three teenage children. The island is beautiful, quiet, and relaxed, while the town has a lively feel. We enjoyed its restaurants and jumping into the spotlessly clean water from the harbour jetty. A wonderful place to relax. We can't recommend it enough for a relaxing but memorable holiday.

The villa has so much character, and we loved relaxing on the terrace among the well-stocked gardens. We picked and ate figs and grapes, and cooked a couple of meals in the sociable outdoor kitchen. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked very well, and there were lots of places to swim and sunbathe in Zlarin's beautiful clear water. Everything was easy to reach on foot or by bike, including the restaurants, shop, and bars. The island has four restaurants, three bars, a small supermarket, and tourist information. Dasha was a lovely, helpful host who speaks perfect English, arranged a boat for us, and sent all the local information we needed. The photos really can't capture the view you wake up to. We hired a boat for a few days to explore bays around Zlarin and nearby Prtvic, just 30 minutes away. Good, inexpensive ferries took us to Sibenik, with its attractive old town, and to Vodice, which was worth seeing but not as nice. We also had a day in Zadar, a great city. Our family of five, with an 18-year-old and two young adults in their 20s, had a brilliant time. There was plenty to do, but also plenty of room to relax, and the island feels very safe. The separate bedroom and bathroom apart from the main house worked well for couples or two small families wanting some privacy. We usually rent places with a pool, but none of us missed having one. The area around Zlarin and Sibenik feels largely untouched by tourism. I really can't fault the villa. We'll be back.

We spent two weeks at Danicas house on Zlarin in September and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The view from the terrace, where we ate all our meals, is beautiful. For me, the cook, the kitchen was the best part: it has everything you need, and while cooking or doing the dishes you can look out at the ocean, islands, and sunset. The house is very clean, solid, and up to German standards. There are window screens, so if you're careful, you can sleep with the window open without mosquitoes. The island suits people looking for quiet who like cooking for themselves. In the morning, a fisherman sold very good fish at a great price, and another stall had excellent local vegetables. There's also a nice café by the harbour where you can watch fish in the water or just enjoy the view with a cappuccino. The water is clear and nice for swimming, though the beach isn't anything special. Danica was very kind and helpful, and even made us a small dinner for our first night because we arrived late. It's possible to get there from Munich in one day. The only thing we missed was comfortable sun loungers.

The views were magnificent, and the island felt authentic and lively while still being away from big tourism. We were two adults and four teenagers, and the house gave us a wonderful mix of comfort and things to do as a family. Dasha did everything she could to make the holiday a success. We all enjoyed it so much. It really felt like home.
