Apartments Bubica

The hosts were warm and accommodating, and the views were stunning.

Really great!

We stayed in apartment number 2 at Bubica from 31.8. to 5.9. 2025, and the experience was awful. The setting is on Dugi otok, whose beauty is phenomenal, and we’d return to the island tomorrow, but never to Bubica. My one star is only for the parking space and being close to the sea. I’m not rating Luka, its restaurants, or the sea’s cleanliness. More than 90% of accommodation on Dugi Otok is close to the sea and has a beautiful beach, so that alone doesn’t set it apart. No one greeted us when we arrived, and we waited about ten minutes for a neighbor. The apartment is on the first floor and shares a terrace with another unit. Luckily it was empty during our stay, since someone would otherwise be walking right in front of us. There are seven apartments in the house, something we hadn’t known when booking. The decor feels like the 1980s. We’ve traveled around much of Croatia and stayed in many apartments, but this was the first time we found an entirely empty fridge, without even a welcome drink. The owner came by on the first evening to collect payment. There wasn’t a categorization plaque on any apartment. The water comes from a well or cistern, with no built-in purifiers. Neopitroid had been sprinkled along the window and door edges, despite us saying we were bringing a dog. We were told it supposedly isn’t toxic to warm-blooded animals. The kitchen has a small table with a microwave and one chair, though the apartment sleeps five. If it rains and you can’t use the terrace, all you can do is lie in bed. The TV is on the terrace, so there’s no TV indoors when it rains. There are few towels, and they’re small. The surroundings are untidy. Fortunately, the apartment below us didn’t use the grill, because its smoke would have gone into the bedroom. Guests from the Netherlands had a similar experience. Claims that it’s a nice, quiet place depend on how full the apartments are and who else is staying there. If we hadn’t come all the way from Rijeka, I would have turned around and left. The accommodation is a complete disaster and a disgrace to Croatian tourism. It really makes you wonder what standards are used to classify a place and consider someone a renter.

The owners were wonderful, and the place itself is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. It was clean and close to the sea. 😊🥰💞
