Villa Gimino

Villa Gimino in Istria made for a magical stay. From the minute we got there, the place felt like a peaceful setting for a perfect holiday, with luxury all around.

Andrija, the owner, was always available whenever we had a question. Žminj is only a six-minute drive, with excellent restaurants and a Plodine restaurant there. Rovinj and Poreč take 25-30 minutes by car, and Pula is just under 40, so getting around was easy. Villa Gimino is a wonderful place for a relaxing, luxurious holiday. The grounds are spacious, and the villa has everything we needed, including table tennis, table football, a large pool, and charcoal and electric grills outside. We had a lovely holiday with friends and children.

We had a great week at the villa in September, with four adults and two children. It’s very spacious, with three bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs, each with its own bathroom. There’s also a ground-floor toilet and another bathroom outside by the pool, which made it easy to shower off without going back inside wet. Eight large bath towels were provided, and there’s room for three cars in the driveway. The garden is beautiful and roomy, with fruit trees and a pool. Under the covered outdoor area there’s a large table, cooktop, ping-pong table and foosball table, so we could eat and do things outside even when covered. The area is very quiet and pretty, and the nearest large supermarket is six minutes away by car. The bedrooms, living space and bathrooms were clean. The outdoor area and kitchenette, unfortunately, weren’t very clean. The decor took some getting used to, though taste is personal, and the place felt a bit dated and carelessly furnished overall.

This was my third year in a row at the villa, and it was as good as ever. The price has gone up every year, though, so I’ll probably try somewhere else next year.
