Royal Oasis By Occidental

I’m so glad Francky told us about this hotel. My fiancé was looking for somewhere to stay and get married, and Francky, a photographer he’d done work for, shared the information and kept in touch with us. I met the love of my life in this beautiful country, and that help meant a lot. The hotel itself is amazing, with a lovely ambiance and plenty of security. The restaurants and food were great, and everyone we met was educated, super nice, and pleasant. Whenever I visit my Motherland, I’ll stay here.

The best parts for me were La Ville Restaurant and the pool. The Haitian food there is authentic, fresh, tasty, and served in generous portions, with warm service. The pool is spacious for guests and family, and the bar service beside it is great. They play music there on some days during the week, though I’d like management to have music every day so guests have more reason to return. Our room had a broken closet and a loose faucet. The hallways, elevator, and lobby at Royal Oasis hotel were warm, and management should set the air conditioning to a comfortably cool temperature in those areas. In the room, though, things were good: it was spacious, clean, and cold, with comfortable beds and a hot shower. That hot water is a pleasure to find here in the city. Family and friends can also use the pool and restaurants on the property.

Breakfast needs serious work. It rarely had much quality, and the ham could be better. When they served it in the outside restaurant, it was much better. Hot water only worked occasionally. The staff had a great attitude, and reception was always great. The rooms were spacious and clean, with views. The place felt very safe and had some nice shops.

Security was top notch, and the outside of the hotel looked really beautiful, but the room was nothing like I expected. The air conditioner worked, which was nice, but the refrigerator never got cold. I had to walk a good distance to the restaurant to ask for ice, and they gave me an ice canister, which seemed odd. There was just one drinking cup, left on the bathroom sink counter. The bathroom was hot with no air circulation, the water only got lukewarm, and the pressure wasn’t great. I didn’t take a photo of the hole in the shower ceiling. It doesn’t actually close, so water drips everywhere. The room was booked for two people, but there was only one bath rug and one towel. Needless to say, I won’t be back.
