Kiss Villa in Balatonföldvar is about 125 years old, with tobacco trees in front and a bright, impressive staircase leading to the first and second floors. It's a very special house with a southern European feel, and one of my favorite homes in the Balaton region of Hungary.

Kiss Villa is centrally located, in a spacious historic building that's spotlessly clean, with friendly staff and the lake within walking distance. After three months touring Europe and staying in all sorts of places, we arrived at Villa Kiss and got the warmest welcome. Highly recommended.

My friends and I took a few days off and booked Kiss Villa spontaneously. We were welcomed really warmly when we arrived, and the room was very nice. I've stayed in a lot of hostels on previous trips, and Kiss Villa is a lovely place to spend a good time by Lake Balaton.

We booked at the last minute. The room was very basic for the price, which didn't feel fair. The city is lovely, though.
