The pool was the only thing I liked. The bed linen was quite stained, and all the cupboards were chained shut for some reason. We couldn’t clean the dirty plates, glasses and cutlery because there wasn’t any dishwashing liquid. We’d told them we would arrive late, but right away they started arguing about why we hadn’t left earlier. We’d cycled 70 km that day, but the teasing woman, who was over 80, said that wasn’t enough. She couldn’t tell us where to put the bikes so they wouldn’t be in the way. The whole time she treated us like kindergarteners, and even showing us the apartment meant running up the stairs to give us another look. I’d recommend it to people who enjoy teasing stubborn old people.

We went in feeling skeptical after reading the earlier reviews, but things turned out better than we expected. Everything was clean, the room facilities were in order, and the hosts were really nice. There could have been more toilet paper and hand towels in the bathroom.

I’ve never had a host speak to me with that kind of attitude. After the booking fell through, I was actually glad I wouldn’t have to meet them in person. My wife had called the number provided to ask if we could arrive in the evening, after our same-day booking was confirmed through szàllàs.hu. A not very nice lady said no. About an hour and a half later, Mr. Matkovics called her, shouting in an unqualified style, “the same-day booking is just a joke, right?” I won’t go into the rest of that “conversation.”

We booked for one night and politely asked if we could use the washing machine to wash my little son’s pants. The owner said no, that you had to rent the apartment for at least two weeks to do laundry. We accepted that, but then he came after us out of nowhere and stood up for us in a peasant way. When we left, he couldn’t even say goodbye. The owner is a jerk peasant!

This place is seriously overrated and doesn’t deserve even one star. There was mold in the bathroom, the wardrobe was falling apart, the bedding was disgusting, and a power outlet in the shower had been taped shut.
