Solid construction and clearly well looked after.

I really enjoyed relaxing here, and we’re already planning to come back next year. The garden has a covered terrace with comfy chairs and a big table, next to a nice, clean pool. It was peaceful in the evenings, but there was no problem going out if we wanted. Parking is inside the garden, monitored by a camera, which felt very secure. Dóri puts a lot of effort into keeping things clean and looking after guests. The hosts are kind and flexible, and clearly try to make guests comfortable. Both the kitchen and the rooms are well equipped. The kitchen was especially clean and had everything we needed, including a fridge, oven, microwave, hotplate, cutlery, plates, glasses, mugs, trays, and a huge dining table. Cooking was comfortable too, thanks to the air conditioning. In the rooms, there’s a separate fridge, air conditioning, cabinets, a hairdryer, and towels. The beds were very comfortable, and I especially loved the pillows.

We had such a good time that this was our second stay, this time as four people in two couples. The location is handy, on a quiet street, with the center, a shop, an ice cream place, restaurants, bars, and a game room all nearby. Platán is worth trying, and the Balaton shore is about a 10-minute walk away. We’ll definitely stay here again when we’re in the area. The place is run by a young couple who are always helpful, and they have two adorable little children. They make sure the kids don’t disturb guests, though really, who could mind the little ones? The cleanliness was always fine, and the room size and setup met our expectations. There’s a normal mini-fridge that can fit a 2L soft drink, air conditioning, a sensible TV, and a comfortable bed, though some people may find it a bit soft. There are seven rooms, each with its own bathroom and shower, plus a shared kitchen and dining room where you can cook a proper meal at a table that seats six. The air-conditioned lobby has a comfy sofa, handy if a larger group needs to wait for each other. There are good wines here, well worth tasting. Outside, there’s a small pool where 6-8 people can cool off comfortably. At 26 degrees, it was ideal in the summer heat, and there’s also an outdoor hot water shower. Chairs and tables are set up in the back garden under a covered area, so it’s a relaxing spot even when it’s quietly raining. Dear hosts, I think this is very good value for money. 🙂

Most of Földvár’s attractions and popular spots are an easy 5-10 minute walk away, so it’s a good place to plan a stay of several days. Our room was far beyond what we expected, with lovely furniture, a modern design, excellent cleanliness, quiet surroundings, and attentive service. There was a roomy wardrobe, fridge, TV, air conditioning, and towels, plus a very comfortable bed and a practical bathroom. The welcome was friendly and brief, then we could go straight to our room. This was definitely not the usual accommodation. I highly recommend it!
