I booked a downstairs room through booking. com, but when we arrived they said I had booked an upstairs one. I had called after making the reservation and told the hotel I was coming with my girlfriend and dog, which is why I chose the downstairs room. They didn't seem to care that I have a hernia and can't really manage stairs. This wasn't the room I booked. The whole thing felt unwelcoming, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. Stay away from this hell.

The rooms are spacious enough and have nice cupboards, and the sauna and steam cabin are really good. In summer, the lack of mosquito screens on the windows can be a problem. The walls are very thin, too, so if a family with small children is in the next room, you may only get to sleep when they do.

We found the staff cheerful and pleasant, and the breakfast was perfectly decent. The rooms have a slightly retro feel, but they were comfortable and not in bad shape, and the little wellness area was very good. This small hotel was a lovely surprise on our impromptu weekday trip in early summer. Balatonföldvár is beautiful, and the hotel is only a few steps from the Balaton shore, with great value for the price. There is construction on the neighboring plot. It didn't bother us, and I don't think it would bother most people, since there is some noise during working hours and you can be out at Balaton then anyway. We'd be happy to come back.
