Could I give this minus stars? I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone, even my enemies. For the same price, other places can offer three or four times the quality, and I don't have high expectations to begin with. This felt like the worst kind of cheap workers' hostel, yet it was expensive. We paid for a “king size bed room,” but got two separate single beds. When we tried to push them together, there was a dirty sock on the bed and lots of dust and dirt underneath. The kitchen had plenty of equipment, but it was all smelly and dirty, and my grandmother had better things 30 years ago. The bathroom was dirty too. We'd specifically asked by email whether they had a nice double room with a view of Lake Balaton. They said yes, and that's why we chose the hotel. Instead, we looked out at parking spaces and another building. We could see a bit of Balaton only if we leaned out over the balcony. I could have lived with the view, but not with being told otherwise.

It's cheap, the rooms are clean and large, the shower is excellent, and there's a full kitchen with plates and other things. Air conditioning is a big plus, too. They have a playground and a 24-hour reception. The place is quite old, though, and feels like the hotel from The Shining, which could also be a plus, I guess. I've never had to make my own bed at a hotel before, and the sheets had the date 1964 on them for some reason. It's a good 20-minute walk from the start of the Füred strip. I guess I'd come back if there wasn't another option at the same price.

If you like retro, this place is simply great. It's peaceful with no crowds or plastic glamgirls, and the crew are friendly and nice. The rooms are clean and tidy, and they care about the environment too. Cool place to stay, I can only recommend it!

We stayed for one night, and there wasn't anywhere to leave our bicycle. For what it offers, I found it a little expensive.
