Vadkacsa Panzio

The staff were lovely, and even brought water for our dog. We had the Lencse leves (lentils soup), Gombapaprikás galuskával (mushroom stew with dumplings), and Mákos guba for dessert. Everything tasted great and felt homemade. The portions worked well for a light lunch for two, since we didn't want to eat too much before biking.

We went for lunch twice during our stay and had a great time both visits. The food was excellent, with lots of choice and variety. The staff were friendly and kept smiling, and they even gave us a game to play while we waited for our meal. It's conveniently located near the beach, train station, and other things to see. Definitely my favourite place to visit in Balatonkenesse, and the best restaurant I've visited in Hungary. Thanks, I'd recommend it.

This is just a review of the restaurant. We didn't try the rooms. The waiter was friendly and the beer was warm. As for the food, the Ewes cheese curd Strapacky (soft egg noodles) was so extremely salty that we couldn't finish it, basically inedible, though the taste itself was okay. The pork rib steak with bacon chips, potatoes, and lecso was okay but nothing special. It was basically potato stew with a slice of bacon and a pork steak. Overall, the food seemed and tasted mediocre.

The food was delicious, though expensive, and I could have eaten more. Ordering was hard because the waiter spoke little to no English and no German, so we mostly had to point at the menu.
