The wait staff were kind and helpful, and the New Year’s Eve party turned out quite nice. But by then we were already upset and rattled by the conditions, and we left a day before our booking ended. We appreciate that Mr. Fejes reimbursed us for that unused final night after hearing what had happened. We had paid for the whole stay in advance, but the rooms and bathrooms were in poor condition, with dated furniture and linen. There was barely any heat, and for several days we had to shower in cold water. After many complaints, management brought us a small space heater that couldn’t make the room comfortable. We later learned the hotel’s furnace had serious problems before Christmas. With outdoor temperatures around 0 to -2 C, they should have cancelled reservations. We couldn’t get warm anywhere in the hotel, and the lack of heat and hot water ruined the holiday. There was no room service either. The buffet food wasn’t kept adequately warm, though a heat lamp above the dishes helped a little. I’m sure the kitchen wouldn’t have passed Health Department regulations. Watch for extra charges for the sauna, jacuzzi, fitness facilities, bathrobe, scrambled eggs, fresh orange juice, bowling alley, and other games. They could have priced the packages higher instead of surprising guests with charges that mostly weren’t pointed out when we bought the package. A hotel without heat or hot water in winter shouldn’t be allowed to operate. Thanks again for reimbursing the last night we couldn’t spend there. Good luck with your future business endeavors.
