Hotel Fiume

The woman at reception doesn’t speak English at all and was quite rude. The service was horrible, and the whole hotel feels old and strange.

The room itself was fine, and you’re close to everything, but the bed was comically small. The reception lady sounded annoyed when I called too many times, and somehow the reservation ended up being for one night instead of two. The old-fashioned key was okay. The half-pound wooden keychain attached to it was a nuisance in my pocket all day, and in the morning nobody was at the desk so I could leave it there. Food was average. I did feel bad for the guy working alone and trying to keep everyone happy, though. He deserves a raise.

The hotel was very dark, and it seemed to be falling apart. My room wasn’t cleaned at all during my stay. The corridor lights sometimes didn’t work, which made it hard to get the door open. They still asked for payment in advance on arrival. I won’t stay here again.

The location right in the center and the friendly staff were the only real positives. Everything else felt old and dirty, like the hotel had been stuck in the 70s. Breakfast was awful and tasteless, and noise from the reception area made it hard to sleep at night. This was my worst hotel experience ever. Only go if you have no choice, and be ready for a rough time 😂
