The friendly staff and the Czech translations of the dish names were a nice touch. We tried Hungarian goulash with pasta, goulash soup, and camembert with a special sauce, and everything was delicious. The menu covers world cuisine as well as typical Hungarian food. I don’t often give five stars, but this place earned them. We ate here last year, and coming back this year confirmed the quality.

Waldemar was a professional host at this family-run restaurant. He described the food eloquently and knew a lot about the surrounding area. It was an amazing experience, and I’m looking forward to returning for both the great food and the lovely conversation.

The food looked great and tasted very good, though the portions were so large it was hard to finish without overeating. The curd pancakes with vanilla sauce became my favorite, and the goulash soup was the clear winner, as it is for me at every restaurant in Hungary. There was a mix-up at the start with a waiter who only spoke German: I got dry wine instead of semisweet, still water instead of carbonated, and perkelt when I’d asked for ragu. Later, a younger man who spoke English well managed nearly everything. He was exactly the right person for the job.

That garlic soup in a bread bowl was incredible. The bread was fresh and crunchy, and the soup was just perfect. Then came the famous Hungarian goulash, which I’d happily choose for my last meal. This was the f.cking best meal I’ve had in Hungary. I’d go 300 km out of my way between Poland and Austria just to eat here.
