Balaton was great for the children, with water slides and other things to do. The beach was clean too, even though it was packed at this time of year. We could usually find a small patch of sun or shade to lie in. The apartment itself was lovely, clean, and well equipped, with three rooms and plenty of space. But our eldest daughter decided at the last minute to join us for another five days, and we were charged an extra €175, even though the apartment was advertised for six people. That felt completely unacceptable. The landlady's rules made the stay stressful. We were told repeatedly to lock the doors with the key even while we were outside. We started hesitating to go out, despite the nice seating areas at the entrance, and eventually we were whispering. That isn't a holiday, especially with children. The landlady kept peering from the garage towards the front door, and that put a shadow over the whole stay.

There's parking, and the place is easy to find. The owner is very nice, and the rooms are roomy, with air conditioning, a stove, and a sofa. The bathroom is fine, and there are toys for children in the yard. I'd recommend it to anyone heading there :)
