The main thing to know is that the whole building is tilted. It’s not just an uneven floor, and that made us feel off balance. My wife was dizzy much of the time, and even though I’m not very sensitive to that sort of thing, I felt uncomfortable too. The street outside is busy, and with a bus stop nearby it was noisy in the morning. Cleaning was a little hit and miss, though acceptable for one night. The air conditioning seemed to surge like it was struggling. On the useful side, there’s free parking right outside, and the owner was friendly and spoke some English. The place is spacious and has a stove, dishes, kettle, cups, plates, a decent-sized fridge, TV, and good internet. We could pay in cash in either euros or forints. The centre is around a 10-minute walk, so not especially close. We stayed there for one night in summer while passing through to Croatia, mainly because the price was appealing.

The owner was a pleasant, unobtrusive gentleman, and the electric heating warmed the place quickly. There was plenty of hot water for all six of us. We stayed one night in the upper interior accommodation, which looked cultured inside and out. It had a flat-screen TV and a small fridge at the foot of the bed, though that was rather annoying at night. The wide bed was comfortable enough, despite creaking a little. We arrived after closing time, and the cleaning could have been more thorough, but there was nothing unusual.

The host was kind and flexible, and the place was lovely, modern, and clean. I'd recommend it to anyone.

It's conveniently placed, about 10 minutes from the castle, with a pleasant walk into the city centre.
