Centrooms Park Eger

The price is good and it’s right by the city center, with great restaurants nearby, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The room and corridors were dirty and seemed unattended. Staff didn’t send check-in instructions ahead of time, and you need a local phone connection to call them and get into the building and room. The bed was clean and neatly made, but very uncomfortable. The carpet felt oddly damp and had dirty marks in several places. The curtains were too narrow, though the windows looked clean. There was a strange stain on the bathroom floor by the toilet, and the shower was clogged, so we had to wash up quickly. The room was full of mosquitoes in October, though I don’t think that was the hotel’s fault. Breakfast was awful, with very little food and low-quality products. Items needed constant refilling, and each refill meant a 10-15 minute wait. We arrived after staff hours, so check-in took place while we were eating and drinking breakfast, which was very uncomfortable and made the experience worse. The staff seemed awkward during our stay. Checkout was quicker, and we could pay in cash or by card. The reviews were rated 4+, but we didn’t see what people liked. If you want somewhere cheap and close to the center and don’t mind a bad experience, choose this place.

This place is basically extra rooms for the main hotel, without services like a restaurant or wellness facilities. The room is fine if you’re only using it to sleep. There’s just one wardrobe with two compartments, and the bathroom is nice, though the shower door leaked even when closed and left a small puddle. There may have been a one-time problem, but several of us got locked out of the building. Staff had apparently locked the door with keys, so our key cards stopped working, even though they knew people would be coming back late, as late as 3-4 AM. We made several phone calls, and it took about 30 minutes for someone to come open the door.

Right in the middle of the busy square, and the rooms are clean, roomy, and comfortable. The WiFi is very strong too. David was a friendly, helpful host. There’s no reception, so you get a key for the main entrance. Be sure to let them know when you’ll arrive.

A really good place to stay in Eger. The rooms are spacious, neat, and very clean for a reasonable price. They have AC, and the English-speaking staff are helpful.
