Erla Villa

The villa has a beautiful interior, and we especially enjoyed the cinema room and pool table. The beds were large and comfortable, the food tasted good, and the staff were approachable. A few staff members didn’t speak English, but we still managed to communicate without any problems.

I liked the design and the restaurant was good, but the air conditioning was a real problem on a hot summer day. Staff tried to repair it, yet it still didn’t work properly. At checkout, they first told me I couldn’t pay before 8, for reasons I don’t know. I insisted and paid anyway, and no one asked how my stay had been.

The staff were lovely, friendly, and ready to help. I also really enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and gardens. The rooms felt luxurious and exclusive, and the food was excellent. One of the best hotels in the city, in my view. Thank you 😊

The room and the way the stay was handled left me very disappointed. I paid over 400,000 HUF for a cold, poor room and weak client service. I’ve lived in Hungary for three years, and this was the first time I came away feeling this let down. I suspect the place is understaffed, and it felt as though Hungarian guests were preferred over foreigners, which is the only explanation I can think of for the treatment we received. I’d booked ten days well ahead. The person answering the reservation phone didn’t speak English, so I followed up by email. They offered two rooms for my dates, a standard double and a two-level duplex. I expected to be on my own most of the time, so I chose the smaller room, although its photo wasn’t on the website. When my boyfriend decided to join me for a weekend, I asked about the extra cost and was told he’d have to pay the full rate for three days even though I’d already paid for the room. It took three emails to clear up that misunderstanding. On arrival, the ground-floor room recommended for my ten-day holiday had no natural light. It was very cold at the end of October, before the heating season, and the only way to get warm was hot air from the AC, even though there were radiators on the wall. The bathroom especially felt like a cellar. Showering was uncomfortable, and the whole place felt depressing. I asked to move, but another room was available for only four nights during the week. The receptionist seemed surprised and said, “Tuscany suite is a business room, guests don't stay long there.” Why hadn’t the booking manager thought of that when suggesting it for ten days? There were other problems too. A maid knocked at my door at 7:30 in the morning. Grey foam appeared in the jacuzzi each day. There were no instructions for turning on the sauna. At breakfast, a confused waiter never gave me the hot breakfast menu. I was promised a nicer room for two nights, but they gave it to a VIP regular guest instead. I cancelled my last two dinners in advance because the food was heavy, but the final bill was unclear and not itemized, so I felt I might have been charged for them anyway.
