Balaton Lake was more crowded than we’d hoped. It was almost impossible to find a quiet spot to get to the water, which disappointed us. Marta was a wonderful host, though. We had a simple, clean room for a great price, and breakfast in the garden was amazing: fresh pancakes, homemade berry jam, cheese buns, and eggs. One of the best breakfasts of our motorbike trip.

We stayed here on our way to Croatia. The apartments were lovely and clean for a great price, and the owner was really nice. The bathroom had everything you might need, even makeup remover pads, and there was coffee and tea in the shared kitchen in the hallway. There was also a children's corner on the floor. Balaton, Mekáč, and shops were all easy to reach. One personal impression, rather than a criticism: at the time, we were the only guests in the five-room apartment. I can’t imagine how it would work if more people all wanted to cook in the shared kitchen. Also, at 9:30 pm, after we’d already gone to bed because we had another trip to Croatia the next morning, other guests arrived. The owner’s check-in woke us. It was summer, hot, and we had the balcony open, with terrible noise all around, probably coming from other apartments nearby.

We were nine people, five adults and four children, stopping for the night on our way to Croatia. The owner was very kind, and the rooms were clean and nice. There was a big shared kitchen with a large table, plus a play area for the kids. We’d happily recommend it! 😊
