The receptionist was so helpful that they drove back to the guest house late at night to help me get my phone, which I’d left in the kitchen. Staff that willing to go out of their way are rare. Amazing service, 10/10.

It’s right in the city center, and the price is good for that location. Just a room with no window, and the bathroom is shared.

We chose it for the city center location, and it was good value since accommodation in the area wasn’t expensive. The one downside for our family of four was the lack of air conditioning. There was one fan, but with temperatures over 30, that wasn’t enough.

The room was clean, warm, and nice, with just two small problems: the sink drained a bit slowly, and the door didn’t close properly when locked twice. But the night of December 25, 2025, was frightening. My boyfriend and I were staying for one night when, around 11:30 PM, we woke to a man yelling. We first assumed he was drunk and passing outside. Instead, he came through the garden gate and main entrance, then reached the second floor where our room was. He was speaking Hungarian, which we couldn’t understand. We contacted the property through Booking right away and asked them to call the police. He went outside for a moment, so we thought he’d left, but then he came back in, returned to our floor, tried door handles, and kicked doors. We didn’t know if he had a weapon, and were too scared to open our door or speak from the window. We stood behind the door holding it shut in case he tried to get in. He kept shouting and damaging neighboring room doors, then eventually left. The person we’d contacted arrived afterward, when the man was already gone. We were told the police had been notified, but they took about an hour to arrive. Since it was Christmas Day, we thought no other hotel or guesthouse would be open, so we stayed until morning, feeling extremely unsafe. Management didn’t follow up or explain anything the next day. When we asked for a refund, they said they were “victims” too and weren’t responsible. That was very disappointing. A drunk stranger had entered the property, gotten to our floor, and kicked doors, yet the owner said they had no responsibility. We were badly frightened, and left deeply disappointed. That night could have ended much worse.
