Lovagvár Apartments

The good parts were that the building and furniture looked nice, and the place is very close to the baths. The rest of the stay was a very different story. Communication with the staff and owner was awful. When we arrived in town, neither of the two phone numbers answered despite several attempts. The owner eventually picked up, but we couldn't communicate with her in Hungarian, Romanian, or English. I called again and reached the Romanian-speaking woman, who said she'd come and that we could go in. At checkout, we messaged and called to ask what to do with the key, but got no answer, just like at check-in. We had to travel 3 km to the owner's house, following directions the Romanian-speaking woman gave over the phone. We left the key in the door and went to look for her, since she also owed us the change from the apartment price after saying she didn't have her wallet with her. After many unanswered calls on checkout day, she finally answered and shouted that arranging her schedule wasn't her problem, and that clients had to arrange their schedules around hers. She didn't hang up properly, and right after our call we heard her tell the owner that "those garbages" had called at 7 am. We hadn't called then, it was after 8:30, and checkout was at 10. That same day, after we left, she messaged me saying I shouldn't come to Hungary again and should stay home. She also said she'd give my personal details to all the other apartment owners so I couldn't book another room in Gyula. The room was dusty, especially the curtains and underneath the furniture. There was black mold in the bathroom corners, and the cabinets for the dishes were very dirty. The pillows were awful, just empty, dirty bags, and the old sheets had small holes. Our balcony connected with another room's balcony, so someone from next door could come over that way. There was also an inside door to the other room, which felt very awkward because a child or adult could open it and come into our room.
