Huba Apartman 2.

My sister-in-law gave us a three-day stay in Huba Apartment 2. I gave it one star because the photos used to advertise the apartment don’t match what we found, even though all three tiny rooms have air conditioning. The owner was kind and very quick about asking for our documents and taking pictures of them. She said she was in a hurry, left us there, and asked us to leave by 8:30 so the cleaner could finish before the next guests arrived. She wished us a good rest and said she was glad we weren’t fussy guests. Only after that did we get a proper look around. The house was extremely neglected and dirty, inside and out. The yard was untidy, the garden furniture needed replacing, and there was no sign of a pool. The bedding smelled bad and was not clean. There were holes and suspicious stains, along with lots of hair, body hair, false eyelash strands, bits of peeled skin, and dog hair. We appreciated being given towels, but couldn’t tell whether the previous guests had used them and left them behind or whether they were meant for us. The furniture looked like it might once have been good quality, but it was dirty and dusty, with handprints. The walls and light switches were dirty too. The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed and had pieces of broken artificial nails on it. The TV didn’t work. There were long black hairs in the bathroom and the most disgusting shower drain we’d ever seen. The kitchen was a real surprise. There was sticky grease on the counter and hob, with bread and food crumbs everywhere. About 80% of the dishes were unusable and very dirty. One still had fried omelette stuck to it after it had been put back in the cupboard. The fridge was half thawed, smelled bad, and had food residue and a few black hairs inside. As I said, these three days were a gift from my sister-in-law. We only stayed out of respect for the family, then decided to clean and disinfect the place so our last few summer days wouldn’t go to waste. We only started taking photos after the initial shock, when we’d already cleaned almost everything, but I think the pictures we got still show quite a lot. I’m attaching a few.

I normally don’t post reviews, but I felt I had to share this bad experience so others don’t go through the same thing. If you can, avoid booking Huba Apartman Hajduszoboszló. In February, I booked a stay for August through szállás.hu and received an email confirming it. The owner asked for a 20,000 HUF deposit to make the booking valid, so I transferred it straight away. I heard nothing afterward. When two weeks had passed, I called to check that the money had arrived. The owner said yes, apologized for not replying, and said illness had kept him busy. I thought that was understandable. We later realized we couldn’t go on vacation after all, so I canceled in March, when the reservation was only a month old. I’d also made the booking through szálloda.hu, and they emailed to say it was canceled and that the accommodation provider had to return the deposit. I called the owner to ask him to send back the 20,000 HUF. He then claimed he hadn’t received it. When I reminded him of our earlier call, he said he remembered, was on the road, and would transfer it as soon as he got home. He said he’d write it down so he wouldn’t forget. I waited for weeks, but the money never came. I asked szállás.hu to contact him because I wasn’t willing to keep talking to someone who was lying and making excuses. They did. He told them he was abroad and would send it the following week, though surely he knew he was going to be abroad. They gave him until June 10. That date passed without the money arriving. I contacted szállás.hu again, and they spoke to him once more. On 2022.06.13, he said he’d transfer it that day. I still haven’t got my money. Stay far away from this place and don’t book. A complete liar, a fraud!!!!!! P.S. szállás.hu were very helpful and friendly. I have no complaint about them.

The place has fresh paint, new furniture in every room, and air conditioning in the rooms. I recommend it for families or groups of friends. There are eight beds across three rooms. The bathroom is downstairs in its own room, and there’s also a toilet upstairs.

There isn’t much to do here if the weather turns bad, and the pools are overflowing. The apartment is in a house split into two halves. Our rooms and bathroom were clean, but the beds were uncomfortable and the kitchen was tiny with no cutlery. The yard had no roof or gazebo. The other half of the house had a gazebo and a proper barbecue, but, well, it’s not worth talking about.
