Hungarospa Thermal Hotel

The food was good, and the rooms were average without any major problems. There weren’t many English-speaking staff, so even simple requests turned into chats with Google Translate. It was funny in its own way, though. A great place overall.

The food was so tasty, I’d love to come back! The service was nice too, and for a 3-star hotel the room was really good 😋🤤.

There’s a huge spa area around the hotel, probably the largest in Europe, and the place is splendid in almost every other way too. It isn’t a shiny luxury hotel, but the staff are very friendly, especially in the restaurant. Meals are traditional and often slow cooked, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner all on offer. In winter you can walk around in a bathrobe from your room through the corridors, including to the cocktail bar. There are lots of specialist consultations and treatments along one ground floor corridor, and the indoor spa has an immersed spine treatment. On clear winter nights, have a look at the stars from the outdoor pool after 18h. Parking and building access are wheelchair friendly, and accessible rooms are available on the first floor. A new thermal jazuzzi was under construction, likely to start operating from 2025 onwards.

The thermal water was the best I’ve ever experienced, and dinner was really good. The staff were very friendly, and there are plenty of health services such as massage and hydrotherapy at prices that aren’t too high, so they’re affordable for everyone. The room had a few issues but was acceptable. One thing that bothered me was seeing people skip the shower before entering the pool. Showering first is mandatory if the water is to stay clean. Don’t buy the AQUA PALACE pass unless you want to swim with hundreds of people in small pools. It could be a good place for kids, but definitely NOT for a couple.
