Plage Hotel

The rooms were spacious, nice, and new, but the rest was a letdown. During our four-night stay, room service never came in or brought fresh towels. Breakfast was a little below average, and nearby restaurants offer much better for about the same price. The kitchen had just two glasses and no other equipment, and the refrigerator was extremely noisy. This feels like a joke for a four-star hotel.

The half-board meals impressed me most, with tempting choices and everything I tried tasting delicious. The staff were helpful and flexible throughout. We could park in the garage well before check-in and charge our electric car there, bring food up to our room for our sick child, and check out late without an extra charge. It’s right beside the ‘old spa’ entrance and very good value for money in the Hungarian countryside. Highly recommended.

The staff were arrogant and didn’t understand English. We had to wait for basics like toilet paper and hand soap, and the rooms weren’t cleaned at all. I’ve seen cleaner dirty towels at a Bangladesh train station. This pseudo-hotel is the worst in Europe, maybe even Africa. I’d rather sleep in a tent.

The location was great, and the room was nice and clean. But they charged extra for everything, including parking and air conditioning. Dinner was poor and came without drinks or tea. Breakfast was passable. A grasshopper even raced across the restaurant.
