The service was the worst part. I've never dealt with staff this rude. One of the cheap plastic garden chairs broke while I was just sitting on it, and I guessed it was around 15 to 20 years old. Staff refused to give us another and accused us of breaking things at the hotel. When I asked them to be more polite, they told me to stop breaking chairs. The whole place looks stuck in 1999, with its best days long gone. The rooms were dirty and worn, there was no hand soap in the bathroom and no garbage bags. They accept animals, yet left insect poison under the bed where a dog could easily reach it. If this were the only available accommodation in the Balaton area, I'd change my plans. I wish I had.

What makes this place feel special is the people. Andi, the owner, is the nicest hotel manager I've ever met, and she really tries to meet whatever requests you have. The apartment hotel itself is beautiful, with spacious, clean, comfortable rooms. The gardens and green surroundings are amazing and make it feel like home. This is the best of Heviz.

The location is fairly quiet, and parking usually wasn't an issue. The bathrooms were adequate, though the shower curtain needed replacing. The property and grounds have seen better days and could be maintained more carefully. Air conditioning is advertised, but some units don't have it. The price was just about acceptable for what we got, though a little looking around might turn up somewhere with a higher standard. I wouldn't book again.

The grounds are beautifully arranged, full of plants, and include both an indoor and an outdoor pool, massage tubs, table tennis, and a clay tennis court. The atmosphere was pleasant and clean, the staff were helpful and easy to talk to, and breakfast was hearty.
