The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn’t especially sophisticated. Some ground-floor rooms have been renovated and are really comfortable, while the upstairs rooms feel more like an old-fashioned youth hostel.

I come here twice a year for two weeks at a time, though summer gets very busy. The lake is so warm then, around 30-33 C, it feels like a bathtub. If, like me, you’d rather swim when it’s cooler, November through February is better, when the water drops to 23-27 C. Swimming among the ducks and the white, pink, and blue water lilies is lovely, and doing it while snow is falling is fantastic.

The breakfast was nice and had what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel. With it being 33 C outside, I didn't spend much time indoors anyway.
