We had a cosy bed and a great shower with good pressure. Our room also had a small kitchen with a sink, induction hob, and four glasses, though no plates or forks. That was fine since we'd paid for a room, not an apartment. Breakfast runs from 7 to 10, and dinner from 5:30 to 9 pm. The location is handy, between two small tourist streets, with lots of Thai massage places and an easy 10-minute walk to Heviz lake. The staff were nice as well. The pool area is quite small and basic, though the saunas were okay. For a four-star hotel, I expected more variety at meals and for empty items to be replenished. There were chocolate and strawberry ice cream flavours, but the strawberry was gone by 7 pm and they didn't refill it. Breakfast had no sweets or extras like pancakes or croissants. The place feels like it might have been a four-star hotel back in the 1990s. Parking at the hotel costs €12 a day, or they offer private parking for €8 a day. They said it was 200 m away but didn't mention the uphill walk. It cost 3200 forint a day, and there's also parking right across the street for 3000 forint a day.

The manager didn't even apologize when I brought up our problems, which seems like the bare minimum after we paid 270,000 HUF for the stay. We skipped breakfast when we left because the dinner the night before had given us food poisoning. My wife and I were taking turns in the bathroom until 6 a.m. Our room wasn't acceptably clean. The bathroom had mold stains and limescale, and the pillows were worn out enough to leave us with neck pain by morning. Only one outlet worked. There were stink bugs in the room when we arrived, so we had to spend the start of our stay hunting them down. Food smells from the kitchen came through the bathroom ventilation morning and evening. Staff sprayed air freshener around the room, but that didn't solve it.

The food was very good, and the staff were friendly and professional. The room could have been cleaner, but it was okay.

We stayed for two days in early February and chose half board. The hotel has an older interior, but we found it cosy and the beds were comfortable. The spa was okay, and the location is great, close to the weekend farmers market and shops. We’d recommend it.
