Bodrogi Kúria Wellness Hotel

We held our wedding at Bodrogi kuria, and it was a great choice. It was a Hungarian-English wedding with many guests travelling in, and the location worked perfectly, close to both the airport and Budapest city centre. The staff were fantastic and flexible, and made sure our needs were met. Highly recommend.

I’ve rarely written such a good review. The staff were professional, incredibly kind and helpful. The place was very clean and tastefully decorated, and the cocktails at the bar were really good. The setting is lovely, surrounded by woods but still close to Budapest and the airport. My favorite was the sauna with the ice-cold tub. Loved it!

We were only here for one night while in transit, and unfortunately it wasn’t a great stay. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was good, but we won’t be coming back. The buffet dinner didn’t feel worth the price. There wasn’t much choice or any proper entrees. The beef stew was the one delicious dish, while the fries were very dry. There was a problem with the shower cord. Maintenance couldn’t help, so the receptionist tried twisting it around and said it worked. When we asked again, she came back with a replacement cord but no tools. It was about 10:30pm before she offered us another room, too late as our toddler was nearly asleep and I didn’t want to disturb her. We had a crib, but it had barely any mattress and was rock hard.

The Finnish sauna and plunge pool were a real highlight. We used the hotel as a base for the F1, and from that point of view it suited us well. It’s quite remote if you’re coming for a regular holiday, though I think the location would work well for anyone focused on wellness. The rooms and hotel were nice, if a bit dated. We found both breakfast and dinner disappointing, with the food lacking flavor and the cooking quality falling short. It’s a nice hotel, but could use some updating and polish.
