Hotel Uno

There’s a good range of games to keep you busy, from board games to pool, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. I recently went to a party at Hotel Uno in Kecskemét and had a great time. The bar has lots of drinks and a cozy feel, making it a nice place to relax and enjoy the evening. A great spot for fun and unwinding, highly recommended.

The food at breakfast was stale, with flies around it, and noise from a nearby billiard club made it impossible to sleep. The room itself was filthy, smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and was unbearably hot because the air conditioning didn’t work. Hygiene seemed completely ignored throughout. There was nothing to like, and the price felt unjustified. I left feeling I should have been paid to stay. I strongly advise against booking here.

We only stopped for one night while heading to Austria, and the central location, breakfast, and welcoming staff were all good. But Room 215 had a really awful smell and no ventilation. The mattresses were old and dirty, and the bathroom smelled so strongly of sewage it made me feel sick. The shower stall and curtain were old and grimy, and the toilet looked unwashed. We were too tired to ask to move rooms.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and being close to the city center was a real plus. Those are the reasons I gave two stars instead of one. My single room was cramped, had no hairdryer, and the bathroom extractor was extremely loud and kept running for several minutes. In the early morning I could hear everything from the room next door or above. The shower itself was good, but the curtain means the bathroom can flood if you're not careful. Street parking is possible nearby, though you need to watch for the cheaper parking zone beside the hotel. There's also parking in the courtyard, but getting in means using a narrow driveway, and the lot is uneven.
